This notice explains how Blackbox Electronics handles personal information when you visit blackboxelectronics.com, contact us, or sign up for product updates. It describes the website as it currently operates. We will update this notice if our services or data practices change.

Who we are

BLACKBOX ELECTRONICS LIMITED (company number 17437115) is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. Our registered office is 9c Reedsfield Road, Ashford, TW15 2HE. In this notice, “we”, “us” and “our” mean BLACKBOX ELECTRONICS LIMITED.

Information we handle

• Contact messages: your name, email address and the message you submit. The form sends this information through our hosting service to Microsoft 365, for delivery to info@blackboxelectronics.com. Your email address is included as the reply-to address. The website does not currently keep contact-form submissions in a website database.
• Product updates: your email address and the record of your choice to subscribe to product news. Brevo stores the subscriber record and sends the updates. The sign-up form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help identify automated or abusive submissions.
• Technical and security information: when a page is requested, our hosting and security providers may process connection and device information such as IP address, browser details, requested page, and request time to deliver and protect the website. Turnstile processes technical information needed for its anti-bot security function; it is not used by us to read the contents of your form.

How and why we use it

We use contact details and message content to respond to enquiries and manage the resulting correspondence. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, and, where relevant, taking steps requested before entering into a business relationship.

We use your email address to send product updates only when you choose to subscribe. We rely on your consent for this marketing. Brevo may send a confirmation message to verify your subscription. You can unsubscribe using the link in an update email or contact us at the privacy address above. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.

We use technical information for website delivery, security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. We rely on our legitimate interests in operating a reliable and secure website and in protecting our business and visitors.

Service providers and sharing

We use Cloudflare for website hosting, delivery and Turnstile security; Microsoft 365 to send and receive contact-form correspondence; and Brevo to maintain the product-update subscriber list and send those updates. These providers process information to provide their services and under their applicable privacy and data-protection terms. We do not sell personal information.

Providers may process information in countries outside the UK. Where an international transfer is made, the relevant provider’s transfer arrangements and safeguards apply. You can ask us for further information using the privacy contact address above.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website currently does not use analytics or advertising cookies, and our pages do not use browser local storage for tracking. The product sign-up form loads Brevo content and Cloudflare Turnstile. Those services may process technical information or use technologies needed to deliver the form and protect it from abuse. Their own notices explain their practices: see Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy and Brevo’s Privacy Policy. We will review this section if we add analytics, advertising, or other non-essential tracking.

How long we keep information

We keep contact-form correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed to respond to and manage the enquiry, maintain an appropriate business record, and deal with any related legal claims or obligations. We do not currently set a fixed period for ordinary contact enquiries.

Emails and related correspondence sent to privacyrequest@blackboxelectronics.com are kept for no more than five years. Product-update information is kept while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your details are removed from the active mailing list; a limited record may be retained where needed to respect your unsubscribe choice and prevent further marketing. Technical logs are retained according to the relevant provider’s retention settings and terms.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction or deletion of your personal information; ask us to restrict or object to processing; or request a portable copy. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. To make a request, contact privacyrequest@blackboxelectronics.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We aim to respond within one month; if a request is complex or there are several requests, the law may allow more time and we will explain this to you.

You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns first.

Security and changes

We use service providers and technical safeguards intended to protect information, and limit access to it to what is needed to operate the website and respond to you. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. We may update this notice when our practices change; the latest version will be published at blackboxelectronics.com/privacy-policy.
